Vadoadra: The Vadodara Bar Association has demanded an impartial probe before the Vadodara Rural SUPERINTENDENT of Police, raising doubts over the complaint and police action against advocate Mayank Patel and his mother for allegedly extorting Rs 65 lakh for a land on the outskirts of Hinglot village.
Hinglot village in Vadodara taluka has land under the Gannot Act. The land was sold to a businessman living in Tarsali area by advocate Mayank Rameshbhai Patel and his mother Vijayaben of Sevasi village, saying it was non-agricultural land. For this, Rs 65 lakh was taken away. But the taluka police station lodged a complaint of cheating as the trader was duped as the land was not non-agricultural.
