Uninformed Fee Hike at Delhi Public School, Harni Sparks Outrage Among Parents

In a surprising and distressing move, Delhi Public School (DPS), Harni, has announced an unexpected fee hike starting from January 2025, leaving parents furious and frustrated. The hike, amounting to approximately Rs. 6000, was implemented without any prior notice or communication to the parents, throwing families into financial turmoil. What has added to the uproar is the fact that this increase comes right in the middle of the academic year, leaving no room for parents to plan or adjust to the sudden burden.

Many parents are questioning the rationale behind such an abrupt decision, with several expressing concerns that it might be a political move. Some have raised suspicions that the fee hike could be a form of a "pay party fund," with the ruling party turning a blind eye to the unjustified increase in school fees while schools under their influence are allowed to take such drastic actions. This has led to an overwhelming sense of betrayal among the parents, who trusted that their children's education would remain a priority over financial exploitation.

Adding to the discontent, the District Education Officer (DEO), Vadodara, and the Fees Regulatory Committee (FRC), Vadodara, have failed to take any action despite numerous complaints from aggrieved parents. The absence of accountability from these authorities has left parents feeling helpless and unsupported in the face of rising educational costs.

In a community that values quality education, this sudden and unexplained hike feels like an unjustifiable burden on the shoulders of parents who already struggle to meet their families' needs. Parents are now demanding immediate intervention from the concerned authorities to reverse this fee hike and bring transparency into how such decisions are made, especially during the midst of an ongoing academic year.
