Tharad Accident: A tragic accident took place near Khegarpura village in Tharad taluka today. Four labourers were killed when a truck loaded with sand overturned on them while they were working on drains on the road near the village. The dead included a child and three women. This tragic incident took place near Khegarpura village, where the work of constructing drains along the road was going on. Suddenly, a sand-laden haiva truck overturned on the labourers who were working. Tharad police and the local administration immediately rushed to the spot as soon as the incident was reported. Rescue operations with 108 ambulances and JCB machines were launched on a war footing. Efforts were made to pull out the labourers trapped under a pile of mud and sand, but unfortunately, all four labourers died on the spot

As soon as the incident was reported, a large number of people from the surrounding areas gathered at the spot and helped in the rescue operation. Tharad Deputy Superintendent of Police (DYSP) S. M. Warotariya also reached the spot and took stock of the situation

DYSP S. M. Warotariya, while talking to the media, said, "" The road work was going on near Khegarpura village around 4.30 pm today. Some people were working on digging the soil to build a wall of the road. In the meantime, a hayva truck full of sand passed by, and the truck overturned as the driver did not pay attention to the turn. Unfortunately, three women and a child have died after being buried under the truck. Legal action will be taken against anyone who is negligent in the incident."

Four people have lost their lives when a truck loaded with sand overturned on labourers engaged in drain work." The families of the labourers who died in the accident also expressed grief over the lack of safety gear at the workplace.
