Police have arrested the accused in connection with a theft case from two mobile shops in Bharuch city. A division and LCB police have nabbed the accused with the help of CCTV cameras installed under the 'Vishwas Project'. Rs 88,990 was stolen from the SHK Smart Tech shop in the National Trade Complex opposite the BSNL office at 4 pm on March 22. HP laptops, earbuds and smart watches were stolen. Rs 25,000 was stolen from a Raza mobile shop in the same complex around 5 am on March 27. In this, HP laptop, Samsung mobile and two tablets were stolen. The CCTV footage was examined under the guidance of police inspector V U Gadaria. On April 1, during patrolling, the suspect on the moped was stopped. A cutter machine and a hammer were recovered from the accused Mohammad alias Zaid Umarji Patel. During interrogation, he confessed to the theft. The police have seized valuables worth Rs 56,700 from him.
