The heat wave is increasing in Valsad district. According to the state meteorological department forecast, Dharampur taluka of the district will record the highest temperature of 39 degrees Celsius. Kaprada and Vapi talukas will record 38 degrees, Valsad and Pardi talukas 37 degrees, while Umargam will have 35 degrees. People have been instructed not to venture out unnecessarily between 12 noon and 5 pm. Children and elders in particular need to be careful. The district administration has advised to wear light coloured cotton clothes. The minimum temperature will be 24 degrees celsius in Valsad, 25 degrees in Pardi, 25 degrees in Vapi, 25 degrees in Umargaon, 24 degrees in Dharampur and 23 degrees in Kaprada. It is advisable to use more cold water, buttermilk, lemonade, lassi and WATER containing ORS to avoid heat stroke. The pastoralists have also been asked to arrange water and shade for their animals and birds. The administration has appealed to the citizens to take necessary precautions to avoid the heat.
