Grant to be sought: Survey for repair of 139-year-old Heritage State Library

The state library is located in a 139-year-old heritage building on the coast of Porbandar. After the survey, now an estimate will be prepared to carry out the renovation of this building in a heritage look and a grant will be demanded in the government. Porbandar city has several heritage buildings dating back to the rajshahi period. There are many heritage buildings including Rupaliba Hospital, Baluba School, Bhavsinhji Hospital, Middle School, Old Court, Hazur Palace, Hawa Mahal, State Library located in the middle of Porbandar city. But due to lack of maintenance and periodic repairs some of the buildings have become dilapidated at present. The State Library on Bandar Road on the coast of Porbandar city is also a heritage building. The library was founded in 1886 and houses historic and heritage level buildings. This building is built in Roman and Gauthic style. Above this library comes the section with the town hall, which is closed and bean-consuming. The town hall above this library is currently managed by the Municipal Corporation, so a survey has been conducted by the Municipal Corporation for their repair. After the survey, now an estimate will be prepared to carry out the renovation of this building in a heritage look and a grant will be demanded in the government. The 139-year-old State Library is located in Porbandar with 59,000 books. The library has a collection of books in different languages in different departments and has proved to be a blessing for the candidates and local readers preparing for competitive exams.
