Surat's new sight, 'green lungs' sky view: Biodiversity Park near Gandhati Gandi Creek will smell, 6 lakh trees will fill fresh oxygen in the lungs, will keep them fit

The ongoing construction of a biodiversity park near the creek by the Surat Municipal Corporation at a cost of Rs 145 crore is now in the final stages. The park is likely to be thrown open to the public in the next two months itself. Built on 87 hectares in the Gulf area of Surat, this one park will give a new identity to Surat. Increasing population in Surat has also led to a major problem of pollution rise. At the same time, about 6 lakh trees grown here are going to prove to be important to reduce pollution. Considered to be important from the point of view of the environment, this biodiversity park has been set up for the entertainment of the people. Biodiversity park will strengthen the eco-system The Surat Municipal Corporation has tried to give the city a green and eco-friendly gift by constructing a biodiversity park near the creek. The park has been specially developed with such trees. The fragrance of which spreads all around and can give citizens a unique experience of nature. The biodiversity park inside Surat will be thrown open to the public in two months. The 'Wild Valley Biodiversity Park' project in Surat city is an important step towards maintaining biodiversity and environment. By rejuvenating the land lying on both sides of the creek, the Surat Municipal Corporation initiated the development of the Wild Valley Biodiversity Park project known as the 'Green Lungs' of the city which is nearing completion. The project is an ambitious plan to maintain the environment in the city, prevent pollution and expand the ecosystem comprehensively. Scent will spread instead of foul smell around the bay Rainwater is stored in the creeks during the monsoon. This will result in reuse of water for gardening. Phytoremidation technology will help in reducing the pollution of the gulf. Removing the foul smell of the creek and reducing the water pollution of the creek are among the main objectives of the project. Rainwater will be stored in the park which will be used to fill the ponds and other useful purposes. The main objective of the Rs 145 crore project Rs 145 crore is being spent on the under-construction biodiversity park in Surat. Its main objective is to prevent water pollution and create a clean and peaceful environment for the citizens. The park will create a natural habitat for the trees and plants that are missing in the area, which will prove to be beneficial for bees, butterflies and other insects. Rainwater is stored in the creeks during the monsoon, due to which the water will be reused for gardening. The phytoremidation technique will help in reducing the pollution of the bay. 85 types of trees will be seen in one place Discovery Centre and Interpretation Centre will provide knowledge to citizens about local flora and fauna. Research opportunities will be created for students. Opportunities for research and study on biodiversity will be available for students. The project will make Surat city greener and cleaner once completed. At the same time, it will make it comfortable for citizens in the region as well as strengthen the connect with the environment. The project will prove to be a major step in the development of the city. The trees which have now become extinct will be prepared by taking a list from experts. All the 85 types of trees will be as old as they were in Surat a long time ago. These include Champak, Surya Kamal, Zini Thuni, Paraspipala, Kadamo, Arduso, Hadasankal Aritha etc. Benefits of Biodiversity Park There are children's play area, senior citizen corner, bicycle track, foodcourt, multi-activity pavilion, artistic bridge. The area around the gulf coast is littered with dirt, but a large park will be developed here and work will be done for the environment in the city as well as in the place to roam. So that pollution will also be reduced. There will be a large amount of purification of air. Trees and plants have been planted in the park to spread the fragrance and give a light and positive experience of nature to the people who come there. Artificial floating Iceland, water ponds and green areas have been prepared to attract birds here. Special facilities have been developed to remove the stench of the creek. Rainwater harvesting ponds have also been built in the park making it possible to reuse the water. Exclusive entertainment venue for citizens This park is an ideal place for citizens to roam, relax and stay close to nature. Special tools have been put in place for children which will be helpful to make them understand the importance of nature along with entertainment. This biodiversity park is of international standard- Shalini Agarwal Shalini Agarwal, Municipal Commissioner, Surat Municipal Corporation, said, "The Government of India and the Government of Gujarat are working on this project in collaboration with the team of The European Union and ASD, so this park is of international standard. The entire park has been built in the heart of the city. This biodiversity park has been prepared on both sides of the creek by cleaning the city's creeks, where drainage is dumped and the places which are dirty. The park has been designed keeping in mind all aspects of nature.
