The 53rd Annual Sports Festival is going to be held in Saurashtra University from December 5 to 7. More than 1800 students from 70 colleges affiliated to the university are going to participate in it. Separate events of running, jumping and throwing will be held for brothers and sisters. The athletics event will be held on the lines of a tournament held at the national level. From the registration of the students to the completion of the event, the medal ceremony will be held at the same place. A gallery will also be kept for the audience, in which 3 new events have been added this time. For the first time this year, food and lodging facilities will be made available to the contestants so that the performance of the contestants is not affected. The university is also hopeful that this time there will be many new records in the athletics event. The event will start at 7 am on Thursday, while the opening ceremony will take place at 10 am. In-charge of Saurashtra University, Director of Physical Education, Dr. Harish Raba said that the sports games have been organized from December 5 to 7 at the Saurashtra University ground. 19 events of brothers and sisters have been organized, in which race, jump and throw events will be held. In which the winners of the first, second and third place will be awarded gold, silver and bronze medals respectively at the same venue. Athletics tournaments will be held in the kind of atmosphere in the national level competition, so that efforts will be made to reach the world university tournament this time in addition to the students participating in this competition and later Khelo India. He said that 3 new events have been added by the university to the planned Sports Festival from the next date 5th to 7th December. Decathlon, heptathlon and 3000 m triple chess i.e., 3000 m running events will be held. In which there are 10 events in the decathlon and in that event there is a mixture of three events, race, jump and throw and this event is only for brothers. While heptathlon is only an event for sisters. It has seven events. While the 3000 meter triple chess will be an event only for brothers. While the All India Inter-University competition is scheduled to be held from December 26 to 30 at the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences in Bhubaneswar, saurashtra university will hold a university-level athletic competition. Over 1,800 athletes from 70 colleges affiliated to Saurashtra University are scheduled to take part in the three-day athletics tournament.
