20 students visit historic sites in heritage walk: Students of R.C. College know the heritage of Ahmedabad

After Ahmedabad got the status of World Heritage City by UNESCO, R.C. The College of Commerce has taken a unique initiative. The Heritage Walk was organized on March 29, 2025, in collaboration with the College's Student Representatives' Association and the NGO 'Hamari Dharohar'. The walk started from the 200-year-old Kalupur Swaminarayan temple. 20 students participated in the walk. The students visited the residences and havelis of Gujarati literature legends Dalpatram and Akha Bhagat. The students were briefed about the lives and contributions of these great litterateurs. Our dharohar volunteers Dhruv and we explained to the students the peculiarities of Ahmedabad's poles. He gave detailed information about the living, architecture and style of building construction of the poles. Interesting information about the history of Ahmedabad was given during a visit to the havelis of Khadia and the samadhi of Baba Maneknath at Manekchowk. College professor Dr. Parimal Upadhyay and Dr. Parth Bhatt gave detailed information about the ancient town structure and establishments of the city. Principal of the college. Sagar Dave also joined the walk and inspired the students to maintain their cultural heritage. The main objective of this heritage walk was to instill in the students a sense of awareness and pride towards the historical heritage of Ahmedabad.
