The self-reliant student, who lives in Motiwala village of Pardi taluka of Valsad district and belongs to a labourer's family, was returning from tuition on November 14. In the meantime, an unidentified youth took the girl to Ambawadi and killed her and raped her. In that case, a team of Valsad police produced the accused in the court and got a 10-day remand. During the remand, a team of Pardi police collected all the evidence against the accused and carried out the work. The women living in Motiwala village have been demanding installation of lights and CCTV cameras on the road leading from Udvada railway station to Motiwala railway gate as well as to make the road better. Many women in the village return home late in the evening after cleaning up the garbage. The women have demanded increased CCTV cameras as well as police patrolling for streak lighting and security as the winter days begin. Local women have demanded that the arrested accused be sentenced to death at the earliest. In that case, the accused valsad police found clothes and other items including t-shirt found in the bag found near the girl's body. Valsad police arrested the accused with the help of a team of GRP after 11 days and night of the incident. During the remand of the accused, a team of Valsad district police found one more murder in Vadodara and found a total of 6 murders. Local women from Motiwala village use the road leading from Udvada railway station to Motiwala Phatak even today by women who come after doing household work late in the evening. Women in the railway tracks and surrounding stretches have demanded to increase foot patrolling at the specific time of returning after working late in the evening. Local women and people have demanded that the lights be switched off and CCTV cameras should be installed as it is getting dark on the road. Valsad police have arrested the accused day and night till 11 walls. Valsad SP Dr. Karanraj Vaghela was thanked by the locals. Women feel safe under the security cover of Valsad police. To control such incidents, they have demanded increased patrolling and installation of lights and CCTV cameras in the area. He also demanded capital punishment for the arrested serial killer.
