The process for admission for the next academic year in the state's government university-owned colleges has already been started, especially last year to avoid the harassment of the students in GCAS, this time various decisions have been taken, including awareness seminars in the school, center to fill the form in the college, correction after filling the form. The admission process has been made common after bringing all the government universities of Gujarat under one umbrella. Last year, when the admission process was done by GCAS, it was the turn of thousands of students across the state, including remote Kutch, to suffer. The meeting was attended in the presence of Education Minister Rishikesh Patel and Praful Panseria and a delegation of ABVP, including vice-chancellors of various universities as well as academicians. This time the board has conducted the examination of class 10 and 12 early so that after the completion of the board examination, the work of admission to undergraduate courses in the college will be started by GCAS after the completion of the board examination to start studying early in the colleges. In addition to giving information on how to fill the form, a pamphlet will also be given while giving the board result which will contain all the information. Apart from creating awareness to fill special online forms, students have to go to cyber cafes to fill the form. GCAS fees of Rs. 300 and Rs. 200 were taken to the cafes and in many cafes, the students had to suffer due to wrong details being filled. The centers started in the colleges also did not prove to be effective. So this time the center will be opened to fill the form free of cost in the university and colleges in which the students will be filled the form and it was decided that the government would pay an honorary salary of Rs. 30 per student. Apart from this, various small and big changes have been made keeping in mind the suggestions received from the people, the education department will prepare its official SOP and announce it soon, sources said.
