Meeting: Narmada district will be developed as a holistic district

After the construction of the Statue of Unity, an exercise has now been carried out in the direction of making the district a holistic district to boost the development of Narmada district. As part of which, in the meeting chaired by Collector S.K. Modi, it was discussed to increase the convenience of the locals in Narmada district in the field of tourism as well as to establish one thing permanently in attracting tourists. Keeping in view the various festivals of the district, cultural environment, eating habits, customs, etc., he expressed his approach towards comprehensive and sustainable development of the district by linking it with tourism. The estimated total area of Narmada district, covered with forest wealth, is 2755.36 square kilometers. Out of which, about 847.95 square kilometers. Forests are located in the area, which account for 3.88 percent of the total forest area of the state. An equally important part of the forest department has been to develop Narmada district as a holistic district. Keeping this in mind, Deputy Conservator of Forests Neeraj Kumar provided information about the development work being done in the forest areas. What will happen in the holistic district? The parameters and actions will include streamlined planning of various development projects, economic earnings for the local people, camp sites attracting tourists, involvement of local businesses or establishing a local product's unique identity at the national level under one district one product, promotion of maintenance of local culture, heritage and its identity.
