Dayal was part of the two-match Test series against Bangladesh from September 19. It was the first time he was selected in the Indian team. However, even in the Test series, there will be no chance to play the first innings, as Jaspreet Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj are likely to play as fast bowlers in the first innings, after which two spinners Ashwin and Jadeja can be seen playing. Akshar Patel has been selected in the batting depth, so he will not be seen in the first innings. If Bumrah is rested in the second innings, Yash Dayal and Akash Deep can get a place in the playing XI.

The 26-year-old Yash was seen playing in the Dayal Dalip Trophy 2024. He took four wickets as a bowler in both innings. It was a surprise call for the team selection committee as it was not included in the list of contenders. However, Arshdeep Singh took 1-1 wickets in two innings against India C. He was sidelined as his performance in the ODI series was not good.
