Walia police received information that a quantity of foreign liquor of Indian origin was hidden on a farm shed on the outskirts of Mera village in Walia taluka, on the basis of which the police arrested a person with a quantity of foreign liquor worth Rs 2.69 lakh from the spot with the information. The liquor hidden in the field was being smuggled in.
PI R.C. Vasava of Walia police station had given instructions to detect cases of liquor and gambling in his area. Chandubhai Galabhai had received information that on the way from Mera village to Mangrol, Ramesh Madhubhai Vasava had ordered a quantity of foreign liquor of Indian origin and was trying to smuggle it. The police have declared an Isam as wanted
On receiving this information, the Walia police raided the border of Mera village and caught Abhesing Dhanabhai Vasava with an Ikko car number - GJ-19-BJ-4482. A total of Rs 2,69,760 and mobile nong-1 kg rs 5,000 and ikko car worth Rs 2,00,000 were recovered. A sum of Rs 4,74,760 was seized, while another, Isam Ramesh Madhubhai Vasava, was declared wanted and legal action was taken.
