Vadodara: There has been an increase in the number of patients suffering from allergies and respiratory problems due to the smoke of firecrackers during the Diwali period. As many as 75 patients came for treatment at Sayaji Hospital during Diwali with complaints of breathlessness.
Sayaji Hospital witnessed a rush of patients due to the closure of private hospitals and clinics during the Diwali festival. Cases of burns due to firecrackers were registered. Ten patients including children underwent treatment. An 8-year-old boy sustained injuries on his face while bursting crackers in Narsinhji's pool.
