Harsh Sanghavi: In 2015, there was a reservation movement by Patidars in Gujarat. The tremors of this movement were felt all over the country including Gujarat. Apart from this, big leaders like Hardik Patel, Gopal Italia, Alpesh Kathariya, Reshma Patel also emerged during the movement. However, during this Patidar reservation agitation, serious offences were registered against several Patidars for attempting to disturb peace as well as under various criminal sections, including sedition. Since then there have been demands from various Patidar leaders to withdraw these crimes. But for 10 years of the agitation, the crimes were not withdrawn.
