"Khelotsav 2025" has started at Ramkatha Maidan, Sector-11, Gandhinagar. The event was inaugurated by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and in the presence of Rajya Sabha MP Mayank Naik. The 25-day games include the GNPL night cricket tournament, volleyball, badminton and rope pulling. More than 351 teams and more than 2900 players from Gandhinagar North Assembly and metropolitan city have registered. Mla Ritaben Patel said that in 2010, the then Chief Minister Narendra Modi started the Khel Mahakumbh with the mantra of 'Ramshe Gujarat, Khileshe Gujarat'. Similarly, the games have been organised in the capital with an aim to enable citizens to enjoy the games with their families. Mayor Meeraben Patel, City BJP President Ruchir Bhatt and international basketball player Vivek Patel were among the dignitaries present on the occasion. Renowned folk singer Arvind Vegda presented a cultural programme. Grand fireworks and cultural programmes were held at the inauguration ceremony. The chief minister also enjoyed cricket batting. MLA Ritaben Patel expressed gratitude for the participation of a large number of women and contribution of Yuva Morcha workers.
