Despite the prohibition of burning garbage in public in Porbandar, garbage dumps are set on fire for disposal of garbage in various areas, due to which pollution spreads. Burning of garbage in public is prohibited and penal action can be taken. Burning garbage, including sacks, rubbers, in public spreads pollution in the smoke and is also harmful to health. At present, garbage is being burnt in public near MEM School near Kamlabagh, on Chhaya main road, including Chhaya Chowki. Motorists and locals passing through here have to bear the smoke and if the fire gets worse then there may be a loss of property. The smoke further damages the health of children, the elderly and the sick. We appeal to the people with instructions to the workers: Municipal President
Garbage should not be burnt in public. The smoke causes a lot of damage. Health is damaged and pollution is spreading, so the sanitation workers of the municipality will also be given special instructions in this regard and we also appeal to the people not to burn any garbage in the garbage heap in public. Action will be taken if noticed. > Dr. Chetnaben Tiwari, President, Porbandar Chhaya Municipality
