Congress National Convention in Gujarat : Mahatma Gandhi was elected president of the Congress at the Congress Session in 1924. To mark the 100th anniversary of Gandhi's election as Congress president, the Congress is organising a national convention on the banks of the Sabarmati river in his native Gujarat. The congress session will be held in Ahmedabad for two days today and tomorrow. Congress president Kharge, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi will also hold important meetings. It is worth mentioning that after 64 years, the National Convention of The Congress is being held in Gujarat. A total of more than two thousand small and big leaders have arrived in Ahmedabad for the session.
