Following the Gujarat High Court order, the state police chief made helmets mandatory in all government offices. Now the traffic police in Bharuch city and district have started a special helmet drive. Helmets have been made mandatory for the general public in Bharuch and Ankleshwar cities. Personnel including PI B L Meheria of the district traffic police carried out checking near Jhadeshwar Chowki. While ankleshwar B division police carried out helmet checking on major roads including Mahavir Turning, Pratin Chowki, Walia Chowki, etc. Teams from each police station under the guidance of district police chief Mayur Chavda are checking four roads. Fines are being collected from all two-wheeler drivers including women. The drive will be conducted by the police for a week. As many as 20 students of Bharuch College had to pay Rs 500 for not having a helmet while appearing for the exam. It is noteworthy. That was the announcement of the police about the implementation from the first date from the month of April and they were also given the direction of not understanding the April Fools in the banners. However, people were fined for going out without helmets.
