- Renowned educational institutions like IITs in India are now offering fully online degree courses
Some time ago in 'Technoworld' we talked about that now in India, along with studying offline degree course in one college, online courses can also be done for another degree from another college. In this way, the study for two degrees simultaneously has been recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
IIT-Madras course
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has launched a three- and four-year full-fledged BSc degree programme with this context. The main subjects of this course are data science and programming with such a structure, learning is completely online and regular assessment of the student through offline quizzes and exams. All the students who have qualified for JEE Advanced this year can get direct admission in this course. One batch of this course has started in The month of May and the new batch will start in the month of September. The application for admission can be made by August 27, 2023.

IIT-Guwahati course
Now the news is that IIT-Gauhati has also launched its first full online degree program. Data Science and Artificial Intelligence are the main subjects in this degree program of Bachelor of Science (Honors). The programme will be conducted on coursera (https://www.coursera.org/) platform.
Like IIT Madras, this course at Guwahati will also have multi-entry and multi-exit points. The course will be of a minimum of 4 years and can be completed in a maximum of 8 years. Like IIT Madras, this course in Guwahati will also get advanced certificate after completing the first year, diploma in the second year, BSc degree in the third year and BSc honors degree in the fourth year. At any of these stages, the course can be left after obtaining a certificate, diploma or degree. This course has also been prepared keeping in mind the students who are advancing in IT after Class 12 as well as the professionals currently engaged in some job or the other. The main difference in gauhati's course as compared to Madras is that the assessment of the student in it will also be done completely online.
