The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has taken an important decision regarding the implementation of the Central Government's Vaya Vandana Scheme. Under this scheme, citizens above the age of 70 years will be given the age vandana card at 85 places in Ahmedabad city. Under this scheme, senior citizens will be given treatment up to Rs 10 lakh free of cost. The decision of the AMC will benefit lakhs of senior citizens residing in the city

Today, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation got a standing committee meeting. In this meeting, an important decision has been taken for senior citizens above the age of 70 years. Standing Committee Chairman Devang Dani said that prime minister Narendra Modi had implemented the 'Vaya Vandana' scheme for free medical treatment to senior citizens with a life expectancy of more than 70 years. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has started implementing the Vaya Vandana Yojana. Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) will remove the Aadhar Vandana Yojana card along with Aadhaar card in more than 85 Urban Health Center CHC centers of AMC for senior citizens with a life expectancy of more than 70 years. They will be able to get the benefit of free treatment in the hospital.

India Government has started providing health insurance cover to all elderly citizens above the age of 70 years without any regulation of income limit under The Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. Under this scheme, 'Ayushman Vaya Vandana' card will be given to all the elderly. It was decided to include all the elderly citizens above 70 years of age in the 'Ayushman Bharat' scheme. Senior citizens will be given bhai vandana card at Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation-run urban health centre.
