Acb's successful escape: Additional Secretary of Health and retired Dean of Government Dental College caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 15 lakh

In Ahmedabad, Additional Secretary of Health Dinesh Parmar and retired Dean of Government Dental College Girish Parmar have been caught taking bribe. He demanded a bribe of Rs 30 lakh from the complainant and fellow doctor to act in favour of the complainant. While accepting an advance of Rs 15 lakh of the bribe amount, the bribe officer was arrested by the ACB by setting up a successful escape. The complaint of extortion demand was made to the Commissioner Health Department According to information received from the police. The complainant was earlier serving as deputy director (health and medical services) at Bhavnagar. In the meantime, they complained to the Commissioner Health Department about the demand for ransom against the complainant for taking disciplinary action against the staff of the Health Department regarding bogus medical practice. So the complainant and his fellow doctor were relieved of their duties. A preliminary enquiry was initiated by the health department against the two doctors and the investigating officer completed the departmental inquiry in October 2024 and submitted his report in January 2025. The accused demanded a bribe of Rs 30 lakh In the meantime, the accused No.2 middleman contacted the complainant and called him for a meeting with accused No.1 to take action in favour of the preliminary inquiry against both the complainant and his fellow doctor. So the complainant and his fellow doctor friend went to Gandhinagar and talked to both the accused in person, the two accused demanded a bribe of Rs 30 lakh from both the complainant and his fellow doctor in connivance with each other. Out of this, Rs. 15 lakh was promised advance and the rest after the work was done. The accused was caught accepting bribe money. The accused no. 2 then called the complainant and demanded money, but the complainant did not want to pay the bribe money, so he approached the ACB and lodged a complaint. Accordingly, the ACB had planned the bribery drive. During the bribery racket, accused No. 2 called the complainant to his house to pay the bribe money and was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe money by making purposeful conversations as per his earlier demand.
