In the last 24 hours, 8 cases of country-made liquor have been reported in Porbandar district. Police seized 32 litres of country-made liquor from different places in the district and arrested five persons in a drunken state. At a time when the menace of liquor has increased across the district, there has been a strong demand that more efforts should be made by the police to remove the evil of alcohol by intensive patrolling at night. The number of cases under the Prohibition Act is increasing in Porbandar district.
