As many as 1,300 students from below 11 years to 25 years of age participated in three different categories at the state-level student chess festival. Of these, 600 players in the chess competition were given a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh. In addition, all the participating players were given free international chess sets. The prize winning players in the chess competition will also be given free training by The Children's Research University. The Student Chess Festival-2024 was organized in collaboration with Children's Research University, Science City, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Science and Technology, Gujarat Council on Science and Technology. In the Student Chess Festival held at Science City in Ahmedabad, category-1 players below 18 years of age, players from 12 to 17 years in category-2 and players from 18 to 25 years in category-3 were included. In the student chess competition, 1300 students from all over the state participated in the chess tournament to defeat the competitive player in three different categories. Out of these, 600 winning players were given prizes of Rs 5 lakh. More than 200 players in the age group of 18 to 17 years participated in the chess competition. The chess festival competition was played in a total of 4 blocks and seven rounds. A total of 50 winners were decided from four blocks every day at the Chess Festival. The winning 600 players will be given cash prizes as well as free training with specialist coaches. More than 1300 players participating in the chess competition were gifted free international chess sets.
