According to the CAG report released by the government recently, the number of staff on duty in Ahmedabad is less than the number of doctors, specialist doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, CHC centers, PHC centers. In which the number of specialist doctors in medical college with hospital should be 657, instead of which 577 specialist doctors are currently on duty. The 13 per cent drop in the account in which specialist doctors diagnose serious illnesses shows the government's seriousness towards health. Apart from this, the sanctioned strength of doctors is 1082, against which 1038 doctors are performing duty with a decrease of 4 percent. While the revenue for 2278 nurses is approved, there is a staff of 2200 nurses with a decrease of 3 percent. In the paramedics staff, 928 people have been sanctioned, against which 893 paramedics staff have been sanctioned. At the same time, phc centers in Ahmedabad district are also witnessing a large shortage of doctors, nurses and paramedics staff. Against the sanctioned strength of 40 doctors at the PHC centre, 32 doctors are on duty. While not a single nurse is on duty against 29 nurses sanctioned, and 80 paramedics are sanctioned for the staff, against which a paramedical staff of 72 people is sanctioned. Apart from this, considering the population of the city, there should be a total of 11 Community Health Centers against which only 8 CHCs are functioning and 42 PHCs should be functional against which 40 PHCs are functional. In an important field like health, the government-run hospital sees a massive shortage of doctors, specialist doctors, nurses and paramedical staff. There is not a single super specialist doctor in Civil-Sola Civil
In Sola Civil, there are no cardiologists and cardiac surgeons treating the heart, neurologists and neurosurgeons treating the brain, gastroenterologists and gastro surgeons and nephrologists. There are no nephrologists, gastroenterologists, paediatric neurologists and intensivists at the Civil Hospital. It is convened under CM Setu.
