'Sacred abode of a Yakshini': Tree halts opening of taxiway at Surat airport

The inauguration of Surat International Airport's new taxiway is stalled due to a sacred tree, believed to be the abode of a Yakshini. Local beliefs prevent its removal, fearing a curse. Authorities plan to transplant the tree near the fire station, respecting sentiments while awaiting DGCA inspection and also coordinating with officials to remove an old temple structure.
