Seeking opportunities, Udit moved to Mumbai, leaving Ranjana behind. Once in Mumbai, Udit reportedly fell in love with Deepa Gahatraj, a singer from Nepal who was trying her luck in Bollywood. The two married and had a son, Aditya Narayan, a well-known playback singer and television host. It is believed that Deepa was unaware of Udit’s first marriage for a long time. The scandal came to light in 2006 when Udit visited Patna for a performance.
