As many as 11 cases of country-made liquor have been reported in Porbandar district in the last 24 hours. The police seized 24 litres of country-made liquor and seven persons in a drunken state from different places in the district. At a time when the menace of liquor has increased across the district, there has been a strong demand that more efforts should be made by the police to remove the evil of alcohol by intensive patrolling at night. In Porbandar, the number of cases under the Prohibition Act is proving that prohibition has remained a mere name in the district.
