Pratik Gandhi played Jyotiba Phule: The actor said, "I have always wanted to do something that will leave a lasting impression on the audience."

After the web series 'Scam 1992', actor Pratik Gandhi has won the hearts of the audience. He infuses a new life in each of his roles. After the success of 'Dhoom Dham', he will now play the role of Jyotiba Phule (social reformer) in the film 'Phule'. In this interview, she opened up about her career, challenges and future plans... What was the response for 'Dhoom Dham'? The film 'Dhoom Dham' received a very good response. People gave a lot of love and appreciation. I had a lot of fun. It was a film that the entire family could watch together. Perhaps that's why everyone of different ages has liked it a lot. Most of the response was that the film is entertaining. The rest of us get feedback through social media or newspapers. Sometimes, when there is a conversation in the interview, it is known to what extent we have been able to influence the audience. How long did it take to imbibe the character in the film 'Phule'? I have played a Marathi character in the film 'Agni'. So there was not much difficulty in the Marathi language or marathi pronunciation. For the last few years, I have learnt by staying in Mumbai and listening to Marathi. I also did my graduation from Jalgaon, so I was not so ignorant of the Marathi language. Yes, its grammar does not yet come to my mind at all that I can easily speak it, but the dialogues that are written are easy to speak. I have played the role of Jyotiba Phule in 'Phule'. He has tried to show the work he has done to bring about a change in history, society and the entire country. It was more important to know about him before playing his character. Whatever I learnt in school was very low. When I did research, through this story I got to know about his personality and life in great detail. The rest is its director Anant Mahadevanji. The author is also the same, so a lot of research has been done for this. He believed that if we were to fight against the British or any external force, that battle could not be won with weapons. It can only be conquered by knowledge. So it was more important to know about his character. When were you approached for 'Phule'? I also worked with Anant Mahadevanji in 'Scam 1992'. He approached me after the release of 'Scam' series. He also watched my play 'Mohan's Masala', which was in Hindi, Gujarati and English. When he was thinking of directing 'Phule', he told me that there is a subject, if you like it we will work together. How was the experience of working with Patralekhaa? It was a good experience working with Patralekhaa. It was a lot of fun working with him. He is a very skilled artist. The process of giving his performance and understanding the script is very natural. We used to discuss many scenes earlier. Since we shot the entire film in the Satara region, we used to impress a lot of times. We were all away from home and lived in a camp. It was during this film that I met Patralekhaa and became friends with her. In this, she is playing the role of my wife Savitribai Phule. The audience is liking you in every role. What will you say? If so, what can I say? That's a big deal for me. When such things are said, it feels good that this is what I wanted and now it is happening. Every actor wants to reach out to the hearts of the audience. As actors, we try to do something that touches people's hearts. It settles in the minds of the producers. Whenever a filmmaker thinks of making a project, the first thing that comes to his mind is your face. Have you thought of working in an action film? I really want to do a full on action film. I don't want to give up a single style. I want to do all kinds of work. Personally, I don't understand the action outside the laws of physics. I get to laugh in action scenes where a man hits his feet on the ground and a lot of people fall. But what to do, people like the same thing. After watching such scenes, I feel like a video game. I will definitely work in an action film when I get a chance. I got scripts for one or two action films, but I didn't like them. Share something about the upcoming projects? There is a film called 'Ghamasan' which is being directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia. It is a cop drama (a film based on the police). It has become a film. It was recently screened at the Cinavester International Film Festival. Earlier, it was also appreciated at the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival (Mumbai Academy of Moving Image is a public trust). The film will be released soon. 'Phule' is slated to release on April 11.
