Fake arms licences in Nagaland and Manipur: 7 accused remanded till April 19

Based on a complaint lodged at ats police station in Ahmedabad, the seven accused were arrested and produced before the Ahmedabad rural court for their 14-day remand. In which the court has granted remand of the accused till April 19. The case pertains to fake arms licences of Nagaland and Manipur. Looking into the case in detail, Sokat Ali, Farooq Ali, Asif and SohimKhan of Haryana had made false arms licenses showing Gujaratis living in Nagaland and Manipur. The accused had sold revolvers, pistol guns and cartridges to these licensees. The accused had made 37 isams fake arms licences. No registration was made at the police station in this regard. Saddam Hussein had facilitated the issuance of false licenses and weapons to six isams. Brijesh Kumar Mehta had made false arms licenses through Vishal Pandya to four isams and helped them bring the weapons. Mukesh Bharwad and Sela Bharwad helped 10 isams and 17 isams were assisted by Sokat Ali and Asif in getting false arms licences and weapons. Vishal Pandya helped the six isams get an arms licence through Farooq Ali. Vishal Pandya, Arjun Algotar, Dhairya Zariwala, Saddam Hussain Rangrej, Brijesh Kumar Mehta and Mukesh Bharwad, all residents of Ahmedabad, were arrested in connection with the above crime. A total of seven people, including accused Sela Bharwad of Surat, were arrested. The accused were produced before the court seeking a 14-day remand and it was submitted that a nagaland license with two weapons and a total of 54 cartridges has been recovered from Vishal Pandya. Vishal bought 100 cartridges for one weapon. Of these, 44 were recovered from him. We have to check where the remaining 56 cartridges are. Two weapons and a total of 26 nong cartridges along with an arms licence from Nagaland were also recovered from Arjun Algotar. For what reasons did the accused keep the weapons? Have the accused received any pecuniary advantage or not? Besides, the accused are former offenders. Arjun Algotar has been booked for rioting in 2015 at Adalaj police station and in 2021 at the Crime Branch of cricket betting. Anand Nagar police station has registered a case of assault in the year 2019 to 20. The accused, Selabhai Bharwad, has been booked for firing in 2019-20 at Anklav police station and murder at Viramgam police station. The accused Mukesh Bharwad has been booked for assaulting at Vatva GIDC police station in 2016 and running an illegal call centre at cyber crime police station in 2019.
